What this site knows about you.
A short, plain-language note on how whynord.net handles personal data, in the spirit of Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act. The honest summary: almost none.
Almost nothing.
This site is deliberately quiet. It has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no analytics and no advertising. whynord does not build profiles of visitors or sell anyone’s data.
- No tracking cookies
- No analytics
- No ad networks
- No third-party fonts
Three ordinary things still happen when you visit:
Theme setting. When you switch between the lime and night themes, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. It is not a cookie, it never reaches whynord, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of each request, to serve pages and protect the site from abuse. This is standard hosting activity, kept for a short time, and used for no other purpose.
If you get in touch. When you email or call using the details on this site, whynord receives whatever you choose to share, and uses it only to reply to you.
No crumbs to track.
whynord.net sets no cookies of its own, and runs no analytics or advertising cookies.
The site keeps a single item in your browser’s local storage, whynord-theme, which remembers whether you prefer the lime or night view. It is a convenience, stays on your device, and is never shared. Cloudflare, the host, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to keep the site available; it carries no marketing purpose.
Because nothing here tracks you, there is no consent banner to dismiss. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
Your data, your call.
Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) gives you rights over any personal data a site holds about you. For this site that is limited to the hosting logs and anything you send by email, but the rights still apply. You may ask to:
- Access your data
- Correct it
- Delete it
- Restrict its use
- Object to its use
- Receive a copy
- Withdraw consent
To exercise any of these, email panpong@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
